Getting Started

What is TraceLogic Pro?

A quick overview of TraceLogic Pro and what it does for fibre optic engineers.

TraceLogic Pro is an offline-first fibre optic diagnostic platform built for engineers working in the field — offshore platforms, underground installations, remote sites, data centres, and anywhere connectivity is unreliable.

What it does

  • Parses .SOR OTDR trace files — opens files from EXFO, Viavi, Anritsu, AFL, Yokogawa, Fluke and other manufacturers
  • Runs guided diagnostics — walks you through 25+ common fault scenarios with calm, supervisor-style guidance
  • Bi-directional analysis — combines A→B and B→A traces to give true splice loss (no more gainer-effect surprises)
  • Smart flag engine — automatically highlights high reflectance, splice loss issues, wavelength mismatches, dead fibres, ghosts and low margins
  • Generates EXFO FastReporter-grade PDF reports — straight from your phone or laptop
  • Cable + project management — track fibres across multiple cables in a project, assign engineers, get aggregated health views on the dashboard

Who it's for

  • Independent fibre engineers (Free tier)
  • Telecom contractors handling FTTP / FTTH builds (Pro tier)
  • Offshore wind, utility and enterprise teams managing multi-engineer rollouts (Company tier)

The defining feature

It works offline. Every core feature — parsing, analysis, calculator, reports, reference library — runs without connectivity. Cloud sync is an enhancement, not a dependency. Your data lives on your device until you're back online.

That's the difference between TraceLogic and every other tool we've seen.
